Monterey Peninsula College – Humanities And Supportive Services Modernization

This project, on the MPC’s Monterey campus, encompasses two separate buildings – one for Supportive Services and the other for Humanities. Even though the Supportive Services building is one of the oldest structures on campus, it was not given much historical significance. HGHB’s evaluation demonstrated the symbolic value and cost savings for renovating rather than demolishing this important structure. The Supportive Services included the design of 2 Learning Center Labs –modernization facilities dedicated to servicing students with varying degrees of physical and mental challenges.

Both the Humanities and the Supportive Services buildings were modernized with the upgrade of building systems, implementation of new technology, addition of faculty offices and upgrade of all building finishes. HGHB also prepared the State funding documents for this project along with the design of the swing space for both of these departments.
