The York School “Classroom of the Future”

HGHB is leading The York School’s goal of developing a comprehensive digital learning center. Designed to host a variety of activities, this facility allows teachers to switch seamlessly from traditional lectures and presentations to project-based, group activity centers where small pockets of learners work closely together. The facility consists of a primary, central space that is divisible and has adjacent smaller functional spaces dedicated to video editing and production, work/study, and offices. A community/collaboration room aptly named “Windows on the World” supports distance learning with technology tools that encourage leaps into creative and independent thinking. Destined to be a new hub of activity on the campus, the center is an extension of the Science Complex designed by HGHB.
