Incline Village elected to replace the community center and golf clubhouse known as the “Chateau” after over 40 years of intensive use and adaptation. The Chateau is located at Incline Village's notable championship golf course and has served as the Village’s community center and venue for events ranging from high school graduations to weddings to theatrical and musical performances. The new 25,000-square-foot Chateau is a two-story structure with golf and administrative functions occupying the lower level and community/social functions for up to 300 people on the upper level. The building is oriented to capture two dramatic axial views; one view looks over the 18th fairway terminating at Lake Tahoe and the other highlights the 10th fairway with a backdrop of the surrounding mountains. The style is of a mountain lodge with liberal use of stone, heavy wood members, and fireplaces.
